Stuart,

Just arrived home from a week in Nova Scotia. Didn't do any paddling (unfortunately), but went hiking and..... whale-watching.... which was AMAZING!!!

Went out with one of the whale-watch companies running out of Brier Island. Fantastic weather all last week and we kept hearing that everyone was having a great week with lots of sightings. There was even a sighting of a pod of Killer Whales...first sighting in over 10 years in the Bay of Fundy I believe (by whale watch boats in any case). We didn't get to see them, but we weren't at all disappointed. We saw Humpback, Fin and Minke whales along with Atlantic White-sided Dolphins. The Humpbacks were numerous... at one point we had 2 on each side and 1 out behind the boat. Some of the whales came incredibly close to us... they would swim along slowly beside the boat, blow a few times, slowly arch their backs and then dive slowly while raising their tails up before giving them a little flip as they dived deeper. It was all rather awesome to say the least.

Well, I could go on and on.... Suffice to say that I can't wait to go back again...(-:

Looking forward to hearing about your trip.
