Linda, the market will do whatever it intends on doing.

Day traders and nervous nellies are the only ones who care about what the market does on any given day or in any particular month. It makes for a difficult job trying to manage any portfolio.

The market goes up and its going to go down. And if you're net long, you make money going up and give it back on the return trip. But the important thing is to be in there for the trip. I know you already know that.

Thinking long term is about the only way I know how to handle the market's volatility. And I'm just not getting caught up in whether one particular month will be good or bad.

CSCO, INTC, DELL, AOL have all had horrible months at one time or another. And if you gave up on them during those times, you gave up on writing your own financial freedom ticket.

I've always said this is a 3 - 5 year bet on the Internet. That's my time horizon. So, for the most part, I don't give a rip about economic reports, CPI's, PPI's, etc. In the long term by my view, it's more rewarding (and less work) to buy the great stocks on weakness and then let the market go where it will.

And CMGI is one of those great stocks....
