Here is the schedule for the week: The Department of Commerce reports new-home sales for July at 10 am Monday. Tuesday, Aug. 31 The Chicago PMI, a survey of purchasing managers that measures manufacturing in the large Chicago market will be reported at 10 a.m. ET. Also The Conference Board reports consumer confidence for August at the same time. The LJR Redbook reports weekly retail sales. Wednesday The NAPM's report comes out at 10 a.m. ET. Thursday, Sept. 2 The Labor Department reports revised productivity figures for the second quarter at 10 Friday, Sept. 3 The U.S. Department of Labor reports employment figures, payrolls, unemployment rate and wages, for August at 8:30 a.m. ET. Automakers will report their booming incentivized car and truck sales in August. Alan Greenspan said the Fed could possibly act to correct a sharp and sudden increase in stock prices. That means 65-100% margin rates. So get rid of your margin NOW. LIKE DO IT. Greenspan's speech to a conference of international central bankers in Jackson Hole. The market CRUNCHED AFTER Al's remarks on Friday with the Dow closing down 108.28, at 11090.17. Nasdaq Composite index closed down15.73, the S&P 500 lost 13.74, or 1%.
