For those who asked.... speaking generally.... their are two brokers calls during the day.... pre-market and noontime... the effects are felt on the open and mid- to late afternoon.... this is where the house analysts speak to their sales forces about the issues/sectors to push... the effects are felt mostly by the large cappers and then trickle down to the related smaller caps..... if AAPL is strong look for strength in ADPT (check Friday's action).... they make alot of their components.... knowing these relationships is absolutely key to successful day trading.... know one knows 'em all.... trade the ones you do.... like APLX to RBAK etc etc... good daytrading takes broad market knowledge.... if nothing clicks for you in the AM stay away.... Also.... if AAPL is called in the AM.... because of its size and influence, it should be obvious it would also be a PM call.... if you study Friday's tape you'll see what I mean.... you wan't to load up the wagons during the midday lull....
