It seems I heard of the CIA operating some companies in a documentary somewhere, perhaps that's where this wild scheme found it's beginnings in my head.
Due to my lack of knowledge, I'm left with a lot of questions, this forum helps me to learn. When Mulrooney and Bush joined the board of Barrick, even with my lack of industry knowledge, it made be sit up straight. Quite a scoop for Barrick, interesting, why?, Mulrooney sure, but Bush? what other companies does he sit on the board. Does that seem normal to you, or is it a red flag?
Could some organization of the government operate companies off shore, secretly, enough to gain control over an operation the size of Barrick? Especially, if it would allow the company to benefit from it? Could a government through persuasion, either through a demand on the company "for the public good" or in the form of implied financial threats, make them do the bidding of a government or group of governments. I suppose so, companies and their management have worked for governments before, both during the WORLD WAR and the cold war.
It seems they were so wise, too wise, in hedging and selling forward (if that's the correct terms) while it looked like demand would be growing faster than production pre-asian crisis. Were they smart enough to know the price of gold was going to fall to the extent it did?
If their was no talk of conspiracy in the gold market, one could disregard these flags, but because there is so much smoke, it seems like a wise move for conspirators to infiltrate a company so predominate and trend setting in the industry.
If it was a novel we were writing, would we not include a company and the characters we see, on the board, in the plot?
It's interesting, that we hear recurring talk here all the time, of taking possession of your physical, and the latent fear of the government seizing the mines and gold held in the country by its citizens,(IN A CRISIS). We should include in the novels plot, the fact, THAT GOVERNMENT CLANDESTINE CONTROL OF A MAJOR GOLD PRODUCER SUCH AS BARRICK, ( which is continuing to buy up large gold properties, at dirt cheap prices)MAY IN FACT BE THE NATIONALIZATION OF WORLD GOLD RESOURCE ASSETS BY THE GOVERNMENT.It could already have the control of a lot of future gold production, just in case the shit hits the fan, and the dollar becomes toilet paper.
Wouldn't that be a joke on all of us.????
