I just wish these articles would address issues such as average
worker salary etc. I heard on news that average factory worker's
salary was below $30,000 whereas ceo's salary of top 300 corporations
jumped a staggering over 400 percent..(sorry can't remember exact
time frame)..Have read how there are so very many working poor. The distribution of wealth thanks to Greenspan and rubin has created a
monster in the ofting..
What is the unemployment rate in NY 6.6 percent?
I haven't been able to find how many workers don't have benefits..
that should cut big time into discretionary spending..
Again I haven't seen any articles discussing the trade deficit in terms of how much corporations spend abroad for cheap labor and parts
and then sell their products here for nice profits..
geez..at my local CVS..I can buy a phone for 7.98,lamps for 9.98 and
5.98,speakers for 9.99 etc all made in china.. CVS doesn't even have
to advertise..it is mind boggling their buying power and cost saving
to consumer..wonder how much they contribute to the trade deficit,
how much they contribute to destroying competition who doesn't have
the buying power. I am hoping when Salton releases its financials since at least my George Foreman grill was made in China, I might get
some clue as to how much they contribute to the trade deficit and how
much they make in profits as a result..
It would seem that major corporations have a big stake in the dollar
although they also might have a trade off in wanting to make their
products competitive around the world-
don't worry..long I am extremely bullish on gold since so much of
bubble economy is based on investing in financial instruments rather than on investing in companies
