DIRECTOR'S LAWSUIT AGAINST INPRISE CORPORATION DISMISSED 8/30/99 6:00:29 AM SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., Aug 30, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Inprise Corporation Inc. (Nasdaq: INPR) announced today that C. Robert Coates, who recently joined Inprise's Board of Directors, voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court against the Company and other directors challenging the validity of certain policies and procedures recently adopted by the Board. The Company stated at the time the lawsuit was filed that it believed the lawsuit was frivolous and entirely without merit.
