This is interesting for those of you outside of the WI boundries...

Here is today's Green Bay Update from Jeff Ash. If you have any questions or comments about the update, contact Jeff (mailto:jeffash@netnet.net).
--------------------------------------------------
Greetings from Green Bay on a pleasant summer morning:
Just a quick note for those of you outside Wisconsin.
The Packer Radio Network play-by-play of tonight's preseason game against the Saints and Thursday's preseason finale against the Dolphins will be available via Internet from the Packers' web site (http://www.packers.com).
This is a tease, though. The Packers are offering it for free during the preseason, but will charge for it during the regular season.
For what they are calling an introductory price of $29.95 for 6 months, the Packers will give you Internet access to Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren's live radio play-by-play of games and the video and audio from coach Ray Rhodes show and their occasional "Inside 1265" feature shows during the season. They also will give you a vanity e-mail address (whatever@gbpackers.com), Packers screen savers and wallpaper and, of course, so-called deals from the Packer Pro Shop.
I guess you'll have to decide whether that's worth $30 to you. For more details, check the Packers' web site.
Again, The Packers play the Saints at 7 p.m. tonight on a grass surface in the Louisiana Superdome, then finish the preseason against the Dolphins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at Lambeau Field.
Both games are telecast only on the Packers network in Wisconsin. For the weather forecasts (and possible satellite coordinates), check Keith's web site at galstar.com
Cuts come Tuesday. DE Pat Ivey was waived Thursday. QB Brett Favre will play tonight despite a sore right thumb.
That's it for now. Enjoy the game.
As usual, if you wish to show your appreciation for these Packers updates, volunteer or make a donation to the charity of your choice. Thanks as always to Janet for saving the papers and to Scott for providing the mail service and the web space on South End Zone.
Thanks, Jeff
