My Congratulations To The Spragues...
Of course, I can hear our Dude saying something like, "But, Legos software is just a toy." Yes, and it is described as the premier children's software. And, for anyone who's ever taken a child to any of the "brandfests" knowns as Legoland, you will know the power of that particular brand.
This set of announcements presages what, I think, will be a model going forward: powerful content to drive pull and technology to establish the means for push... with announcements about each being paired together. This reminds me of what SIGM, one of our partners, did a while back.
Now, onto another topic. I have an excellent source who tells me that the initial meetings of the ISTPA occurred in January of this year; Reid Watts at NCR has led the creation of this organization, though helped by IBM, Motorola, and HP; a subsequent planning meeting occurred in Ft. Lauderdale during the Spring (sponsored by Racal); and that SPECIFIC technological recommendations will be made by this group.
My source is impeccable. Couldn't be any better, in fact. I grant you, this isn't particularly earth-shattering news. But, it IS interesting.
