Hmmm ... I don't like the term evil. That would make us all a pretty bad bunch, heh? I prefer to think to be successful you have to be extremely resourceful, and not greedy. I definitely do not advise ever buying on margin, and I had my cash account converted from margin to strictly cash. I didn't even want the temptation there. I find position trading to also be much less stressful than daytrading. And I really make it a policy not to chase. The feeling is much better and less stressful when you buy closer to the bottom. Of course, always diversify.

The incident in Atlanta was extremely sad, but it seems he had a very unstable mental state anyways. You see the same type of breakdowns from unstable people who get fired or dumped by a romantic partner, but you don't see articles on the evils of firing people from their jobs or discontinuing a relationship.

Like anything, there is an awful lot to learn. I do feel extremely sorry for those who lose money and don't make it through that process.
