I wonder if CPQ gave up development and support of NT64 for Alpha because of pressure from INTEL. If you read the Judges opinion regarding Intels tactics with Intergraph, the same type of tactics could have forced CPQ to give up on Alpha for NT2000 or lose cooperation from INTEL on proliant, IA 64 etc. Alpha with NT64 was supposed to have a big lead on IA64 and better performance and it seems strange to me that it has been abandoned. I bet the Alpha man-Rob Young- might agree that Intel is at the bottom of this.
