Monday Morning price update... Yes indeedy, I actually see a very slight firming of prices at CDW for the 4.3, 6.4 and maybe 8.4GB caps. A much better monday surprise than what I am used to, kinda, cause I haven't been seeing much of a drop lately(the things are so dang cheap at this point anyway). But that is NOT the case for the midrange products(13-17GB stuff). I see decent drops in those caps(5%+ this week). Esp the IBM 16.8GB drive(old clunky GMR drive with lotsa heads/platters - clearance?) The higher caps 20+GB didn't move much, but that's cause there aren't as many players out there yet. My read is that we've hit bottom on the "I'm no longer going to give you $5 to buy my DD" caps, but let's face it, has anything really changed? We've got too many players, too much capacity, too much supply, and everyone is desperate... todd
