I don't know if I've seen an official openly "admit" it before or not. I wasn't really paying attention because their approach to citizen preparedness has been pretty obvious--they're certainly not hiding it.

I've asked the question of the thread before and not gotten an answer. I'll try again because I really would like to understand what better alternative there might be.

Who in the Federal government would you have communicate with the people, in what forum, and what would be the message? Since they and we have such poor information about what will happen, which "truth" would you have them communicate?

What would you have them do that they're not doing?
Would you have them do it even if they don't have the authority to do so?
Would you have them do it even if there's no national consensus to do so?
