STARFIRE OPTIMISTIC OF SUCCESS ON
TIMMINS, ONTARIO, AREA EXPLORATION PROGRAMS!
ASSAY RESULTS PENDING ON 5 HOLES DRILLED!

DRILLING CONTINUES!

STARFIRE MINERALS INC. (SFR - VSE) is a Vancouver listed exploration
company with interest in eleven properties around the prolific mining area
of Timmins, Ontario, Canada. Seven of these properties have been developed
to the drilling stage, and all are situated in areas known to contain gold,
silver, copper nickel and zinc values.

The Company's Board of Directors is extremely encouraged with the first
stage of Starfire Minerals' 1500 meter drilling program on three of its
eleven properties located in around around the prolific mining area of
Timmins, Ontario. Swastika Laboratories is presently assaying the cores
from the three holes drilled on Starfire's Big Maxx Property (Geikie
Township).

The most recent drilling results from this property show considerable
promise, including the intersection of a mineralized sulphide zone,
according to this report by the consulting geologist, Mr. Brian Polk,
B.Sc.:

Hole G-1-99:

Stringer type to massive sulphide from 100.4 to 120.4 meters, including a
stringer mineralization 100.4 to 109.7 meters, feldspar porphyry from 109.7
to 112.1 meters and a stringer and massive sulphide from 112.1 to 120.4
meters. Mineralization is dominated by pyrite and pyrrhotite with minor
chalcopyrite noted. This zone is intensely altered in both silica, chorite
and quartz carbonate. Assays are now pending.

Hole G-2-99:

This hole was drilled 300 meters north along the strike. The target was
overshot, but there were strong indications of similar mineralization as in
Hole G-1-99.

Hole G-3-99:

This hole was drilled 300 meters south along the strike (assays pending),
and has similar sulphide mineralizations as Hole G-1-99 noted from 89.0 to
106 meters.

DRILLING COMPLETED on the Company's Spanride Property, a prime target for
shear zone-hosted gold deposits. The volcanics in some places on this
property reach into the amphibolite facies and therefore may host iron
formation gold deposits. The cores are presently being logged and split in
preparation for assays.

STARFIRE'S intensified drilling activities represent the first stage of its
exploration program, with seven of its eleven properties around the famous
mining area of Timmins, Ontario, which have been developed to the drilling
stage at a cost in excess of $600,000.

STARFIRE MINERALS has been aggressively assembling mineral properties of
merit in this area over the past three years. The Company is also planning
an extensive drill program on several key properties in Ontario throughout
the fall and winter of 1999.

"DIAMOND" EXPLORATION ON STARFIRE'S
TRAILL & TOLMIE TOWNSHIP PROPERTIES COMMENCING IMMINENTLY!

Along with the present three property drill program, the Company plans to
conduct an airborne survey and extensive till sampling on the 27 circular
features (pipes) in order to test for kimberlite indicators on its two
diamond prospects in Traill and Tolmie Townships in Ontario, commencing in
early September, 1999.

On Behalf of the Board,

Michael Caron, President.
