RESEARCH ALERT - Micrel Inc a strong buy

-- Hambrecht & Quist said it raised its rating on shares of Micrel Inc, a supplier of high
performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, to a strong buy from a buy.

-- In a statement, Hambrecht said the move is based on a "conviction in the company's growth
prospects and in its ability to deliver growth in a stable and predictable manner."

-- Hambrecht said it is confident Micrel will reach earnings estimates of $0.29/shr on sales of
$20.5 mln in the current quarter.
