Yosemite Valley Web-Cam Goes Live Bringing the Great Outdoors Indoors for Labor Day; Live Image Showcases Grandeur of El Capitan and Half Dome -- yosemite.org

YOSEMITE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 1999--Thanks to AppNet Inc. (Nasdaq:APNT) -- the premier provider of e-business solutions -- and the Yosemite Association, city slickers can leave their SUVs at home and catch a "live" glimpse of legendary Half Dome and El Capitan the easy way -- through their desktop computers.
AppNet, who hosts the site for the Association, sponsors the Web camera in its extraordinary new location.

"Having a passion for the outdoors, we chose to support The Yosemite Association and its efforts on behalf of the Park. The Yosemite Web-cam is not the same as going in person, but it is a great way to beat Labor Day traffic," said Christopher Paine, division president of AppNet.

"The Yosemite site meets our goals for developing an organizational presence on the Internet," said Steve Medley, president of the Yosemite Association. "Since AppNet recommended the camera, our daily visits have quintupled."

When Web surfers click to yosemite.org, they can link to real time pictures of a panorama view of Yosemite Valley, dominated by two United States scenic treasures -- Half Dome and El Capitan. A WinCam.Live camera, donated by StarDot Technologies, captures live shots. Updated every several minutes, the images allow viewers to witness first-hand, the textured detail of these great landmarks, approaching weather systems, cloud formation changes and other forces of nature at work.

Yosemite Online also provides travelers important information, such as weather forecasts, road conditions, seminar schedules, and a section on the Park's history as authored by writers -- novices and novelists alike.
