Gus,
If you think that any MM will support the stock when an avalanche of selling is taking place, just because they committed themselves to trade the stock of particular company, I will have to strongly disagree with you. No MM will risk their own money to support ANY stock. These guys have no obligation to do that, their obligation is to help trade the stock in an orderly fashion, and benefit from price swings, nothing less nothing more. All of them play stocks both ways and couldn't care less which way it is.
MMs will kick the dog when the dog is dying ( no buyers ) and caress it ( jack up the price ) when investors knock themselves over to buy it.

SGGNF's trading pattern today is a classic example.
