shorting, i'm still new at it, haven't paid the full dues
there are some good shorters out there, some gracious and smooth, some with styles that appear to be a little rougher check the rbak, jnpr, arba, mcom threads and look for common posters check where they post, that's a good start
momo shorts fascinate me, and i think that if you can figure out 3 things, you may reduce the risk of entry short exiting is actually similar to exiting a long, imo
1) when do momo players get 'dazed' by price swings? 2) when do momo players get 'bored'? 3) when do momo players get 'distracted' by a 'better' opportunity?
if you nail all three on a ticker, let me know :)
the best shorts have fraud or a broken buiness model involved the difficulty is that it talks a LOT of dd to figure this out and then you still have to get market timing right and possibly sidestep the momo crowd at the same time
IPO's are another matter, there you have to deal with VC P&D have a look, do some digging, it is worth the energy after all, the results could point you to a profitable long regards ynot ;)
OOOPS, forgot about the trend, easier to go with the trend :) |
