We absolutely agree. I was just trying to make clear to Crotty that
his cost basis en masse would simply be reallocated to his COMS
shares at the merger, and the respective market prices of the shares
doesn't matter (within that context).

Before 100 shares of USRX Cost $50.0000 = Total basis $5,000
After 175 shares of COMS Cost $28.5715 = Total basis $5,000

Assume a $60 USRX price the day of the merger, and no change in
value on the ex-date.

Before 100 shares of USRX value $60.0000 = Total value $6,000
After 175 shares of COMS value $34.2857 = Total value $6,000
