No one is denying what he was impeached for. My point is that prior to his impeachment, many Repubs publicly stated they wanted him out for reasons of morality. Given that, they have to apply that same level of morality to themselves, or be labeled as hypocrites who would be willing to throw the country into turmoil for morals they don't truly believe in.

Conversely, Dems have to cut Repubs the same slack they wanted to cut BC, or be labeled as hypocrites themselves. People who preach extreme positions often paint themselves into a corner. It appears that there are people on both sides of the aisle who have done that on this issue.

After rereading my post, I just thought I should add that it is certainly not all members of both parties who have painted themselves into that proverbial corner, just the more extreme members.

As an example, I and many of my friends who are fairly liberal, thought that BC should have resigned(even before he was impeached).
