Very interesting conversation you guys are having, but IOTM that one of the larger users of these phones at the early stage will be companies and other like minded entities who will, a). discount these costs with tax deductibility and b). do not consider that $120,000 to be that much money when offset against income potential. As evidence of this I would point to the number of salespeople who are currently toting laptops, etc. (loaded with specialized and costly software) and who would certain not have them if they had to pay for them out of their own measly take-home pay.
How many of these organizations are there worldwide? Yo no sai. We have to include drillers, prospectors, doctors in the bush, the ubiquitous salespeople, the iniquitous dealers, engineers, fishermen and all their kith and kin, not to mention bankers who are only trying to make a buck.
Now, as I say, I do not know how many of these there are, nor how they swell your estimated market, but ISTM that many another industry has started here by supplying their labour force, who had personal incomes along the .20 to .40 cents per minute, with otherwise expensive gadgetry, and G* is surely including these in its estimates of market potential. |
