The 70 percent is an overall number - surely, big ticket items will have much lower rates of success. But big ticket items contribute very little revenue for eBay right now. Several quarters ago, eBay reported that about 70 percent of auctions close successfully. While this may fluctuate, I have no reason to think that the number has increased or decreased significantly since then.
