A Sneak Peak at Three Opera Ports Nearing Beta
Oslo, Norway - 24 July 1999 - Opera Software today unveiled screen shots and updates on three Opera versions nearing completion. The Opera/Mac, Opera/Epoc, and Opera/BeOS ports of the popular browser Opera are all nearing release. These initiatives will streamline HTML viewing and provide a fast, small-footprint, flexible browser to the Mac, Epoc and Be communities.
"We noted an increased interest in the porting of Opera to other platforms and as a result have put more effort into those ports thus speeding up the expected progress" said Jon S. von Tetzchner Opera's CEO and co-founder. "We are happy to release a sneak peek of how each port shows in its near-beta stage."

to Deliver Opera Browser to OS/2
New "Opera - Netlabs" Initiative to Provide Streamlined OS/2 Browser
Oslo, Norway, and Biel, Switzerland - 30 June 1999 - Opera Software and OS/2 Netlabs today announced their collaboration to bring the Opera Browser to the OS/2 platform. Producing the OS/2 port is a worldwide OS/2 Netlabs developer team. Called "Opera-OS/2" the initiative will streamline HTML viewing and provide a fast, small-footprint, flexible browser to the OS/2 community.
Opera-OS/2 will include technologies that will ensure efficient, high-quality representation of HTML documents and promises to simplify HTML rendering with lighter tighter coding and the rich feature set provided in Opera 3.60. Benefits to the OS/2 community include faster World Wide Web browsing and HTML viewing with a stable, up-to-date, and feature rich environment.
