sunny...

beg to differ with you...i buy quality stocks and hold long..been doing so since the seventies. but if you're are in the market you must be aware of all strategies to enhance you investment objection. to state anything other then common stock is gambling or speculation is ignorance of other products. what has been discussed in no way represents a trading strategy...i ask you to point out where you have arrived at this conclusion. markets have changed, they will be forever volatile due to massive liquidity and media driven events, this is reality..stocks no longer pay higher divs then bonds, this is a reality...a quality stock must appreciate to pay back its share holder...right now the quality stock de jour is qcom, but most can't separate the quality aspect from the momentum play.

if you have any questions on why options enhance a portfolio, please ask...my recommendations to moore was to look at intc,msft,dell,ibm,hwp...i would consider them higher quality then the stocks discussed on this thread...good luck, ed a.
