Johnathan, Good to hear from you, and see that you are turning toward the net craze for some hot plays. It seems that's where the action is these days, and the emergence of the software companies in this article make me feel like taking a flyer in the sector. Guess I'll look at APLX and see if they have options, looks like a good "put" opportunity at this level. Since I do not short stocks, this is the way I would play the stock. I will never buy another Canadian stock, so COR.TO is of no interest to me, and ADSP is interesting, but a bit overpriced at this level. Red Hat Inc. is beyond looking at since it has done it's thing for now. JDSU has done everything it was advertised to do and more, recentenly hiting about 240 split adjusted, and it is the best growth stock in my portfolio, including IBM. This was Uniphase before joining forces with Canadian JDS, and the companies, combined, have become a better than 6 billion dollar organization and continues to provide great growth opprotunities. I remember when I was playing this one between 28 and 33 before split at 60, do you? This was the shinning star for 1998-9 so far. ASTN is the new JDSU for me, and I feel it has the same potential, so I have tied up a lot of cash in it, as well as the Pharmaceuticals I have talked to you about. When I look at the above it seems like I have enough to watch for now but will look at the companies in your post. Have a great day, and I'll hope to talk to you soon. Charlie |
