Precisely, and Barrick did walk away without much of a fight.
Was Barrick provided with intact cores, split, pre-crushed?

Also, there must have been alot of microscopic work done on-site at the time of drilling by people not a party to the actual nefarious activities. There must be gold there, just enough to make it plausible, but because everyone wanted to BELIEVE, even some experts on-site probably didn't question certain things, which would now look inconsistent in hindsight.
