We all have our quirks. I, personally, don't care for mountains. Having grown up in Louisiana, I never saw one, except for driving through them on vacation. And when people say with pleasure in their voices, "we're going to the MOUNTAINS!", I am a little baffled. But I am a little phobic about heights. Maybe you are a little agoraphobic. Ish and Croc might be a little claustrophobic. Or maybe it's just personal preference.
I love the warm, sparkling waters of the Gulf ~ not too close to a river or bay, that makes the waters muddy. I love the warm, gentle swell of the waves. Others prefer the Atlantic, which is much rougher, or the Pacific, which is rough and cold.
My husband felt uncomfortable about buying a house with a half acre or acre lot ~ the houses were too far apart for him to feel comfortable. He really likes the house we have a contract on now, which I think is far too close to the other houses, the lot is 1/3 acre but it's long and narrow. If I had my druthers, I'd live in the country.
And I could never live in D.C. or Manhattan, I'd go mad. |
