Bo, still in NTBK?

ATLANTA, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Net.B@nk(TM), Member FDIC
(NASDAQ:NTBK) (http://www.netbank.com), the nation's largest pure Internet
bank, today announced that it is launching its first national radio
advertising campaign. On September 6th, Net.B@nk will begin airing 60-second
spots on local radio stations nationwide promoting the bank's unique value
proposition: by existing purely on the Net, Net.B@nk enjoys substantial cost
savings over traditional banks and it passes these savings on to customers in
the form of low and no fees and higher interest rates on deposits.
Following a tremendously successful test radio ad campaign in two of the
bank's top markets during June and July, Net.B@nk chose to take the campaign
nationwide, expanding it to the bank's top 11 major metropolitan markets. The
spots used in the new campaign highlight Net.B@nk's free, high-interest
checking with free, unlimited online bill pay, free checks and 24-hour-a-day,
7-day-a-week account access from any computer. Running into December, the
campaign complements ongoing print and online advertising initiatives the bank
has co-developed with its advertising partner USWEB/CKS (NASDAQ:USWB),
including the tagline, "So, why aren't you Netbanking?"
"We're really excited about taking the Net.B@nk story to a national
broadcast level, given the great success of our recent test campaign," said
Net.B@nk CEO D.R. Grimes. "We expect taking our message nationwide on the
radio to lead to significant account growth as well as contribute greatly to
increasing the brand awareness and name recognition of Net.B@nk."
In anticipation of accelerated account growth, the bank continues to
heavily invest in its web-based bank operation, including expanding its
customer service call center capabilities and implementing upgrades to the
bank's technology systems for improved speed and self-service automation. The
bank has already completed installation of online check reordering and online
bill payment services initiation, allowing quicker service fulfillment by
Net.B@nk customers. Another system upgrade the bank has completed allows
faster credit approvals on new account applications. Future systems and tools
the bank plans to implement include check and document imaging for online
viewing of all account documents and an instant messenger system in which
customers, while online, will be able to immediately send and receive e-mails
with a customer service representative. "We remain committed to our
Internet-savvy customer base in providing state-of-the-art self-service
Internet banking," commented Grimes.
