Do you want to wait to do that? Especially since you are an engineer and not a marketing guy.

Intel is trying to generate as much excitement as it can on Merced. Good marketing tactic but says nothing about the product itself. Nowadays, almost every microprocessor boots on A0. Showing off a product two weeks after silicon is not a sign of strength - it is more a sign of desperation. (To be sure booting something is better than DOA but DOA would mean Intel's design methodology is seriously behind the curve)
