My father calls this morning..I'm in the center gardens watering...Would you believe he wants to talk about the very same issue..So, unfortunately he starts in with the math...Gosh, some "teachers" never give up.. :o) Abelson is basing much of his article on the declining % of profit DELL is "experiencing"...My father does the math and finds out that DELL in fact is earning MORE on the dollar quarter 1 and 2 vs. qt. 1 and 2 98...He promised to send me some factual numbers and I'll print them out soon..One of the discussed issues that I believe Abelson is ignoring is the service that DELL is making ...IMO they had a "nice surprise" the last quarter in this area...I believe that some of these large corporate accounts are hemorrhaging some of the IBM and CPQ service to DELL..These new enterprise accounts are finding out that DELL is not only better with the service..they're a heck of a lot cheaper..
Abelson isn't doing any homework again...Gosh, I'd never teach Latin..why doesn't he research before commenting?..
