But there's no pleasing some folks. Over on the AMD thread, mere weeks after some ugly comments along the lines of "Maybe Merced hasn't taped out yet!" and "Why aren't we hearing more about MerDUD???" they are now saying that demoing first silicon is a "sign of desperation" on Intel's part. And they wonder why the MHz of the Merced engineering sample wasn't reported. "Suspicious," they suggest. Sigh. Fortunately, Intel longs don't have to indulge in paranoid fantasies and suspicions and hatred. We can just enjoy part-ownership of one of the greatest companies on Earth and count our profits.
