Looks like the very busy quotation activity at Samsung for
Fab 9 in Kehueng has turned into a substantial order for
Lam's EXELAN dielectric etchers. I have been told that
this is a large order ( not sure exact number of the
systems). In addition, expect additional order from Samsung
for its Fab 10 which they are doing the construction now.
This order might be even bigger than the order for Fab 9.
The systems are supposed to be shipped early next spring,
which should give LAM a nice increase in the backlog.
Now that Hyundai and LG has virtually finished their
merge activities, they should start placing the orders as well.

The situation in Taiwan continues to look good.
Fab utilization is very tight and the word is that the foundaries are quickly running out of production capacity
and are scrambling for the additional capacity.
Instead of purchasing upgraded 4520XLE, I have been told that they are placing orders with EXELAN as well. Remember LAM has a very large exposure to Asia-Pacific region, which is turning out to be a blessing since this region is on fire with the order activity.

Now I am doubting that LAM will see a flatting of orders
for next two Qs due to robust order pattern that I have
been hearing from Asia. LAM will acheive at least a
moderate growth for next two Q's before order activity
accelerates even further early next year.
