This discussion may be history, but...

Are you sure? Much of the thread seems convinced that they are evrywhere, conspiring to eliminate any unapproved thought from the public consciousness.

When PC permeates a given discussion it is inevitably without being named by its representative.

Of course there are people who expound PC opinions. Even PC people have the right to do that. The essence of PC, as described here at least, is the effort to impose these views on those who do not hold them, or at least to prohibit dissenting views from being voiced. I would expect "an exponent of PC" to reflect this essence.
