<You may not, but HP is!!!>

And people wonder why Intel has people in public relations. There's more than enough people out there who are willing to spread half-truths like these to the ends of the earth.

HP already committed to building Merced servers and workstations. The N-class servers won't move to IA-64 until McKinley, but that's due to the normal upgrade cycle of that line of servers. It's no big deal, either, since there are going to be customers that won't immediately jump onto the Merced bandwagon simply because it's a brand new architecture. They'll wait until IA-64 has matured somewhat before making their move.
