IMHO, there are strong indications that AMD's current ".25" front-end process is incorporating .18 features. This is fine in and of itself (although different from the way I'm used to doing it), but I wonder how much transistor delay reduction improvement they are realistically expecting when they go to their real .18 process. I guess is what I'm trying to say is they might be sliding into .18 on kind of a curve, and by doing it this way the line between .25 and .18 might be kind of fuzzy.

Even some AMDers on the thread have speculated about this.
