I don't recall seeing mothers with babies in restaurants like the Rainbow Room or the Four Seasons. And I doubt that the dress code is compatible with the type of loose garments that are conducive to public breast-feeding. Just as one doesn't take a baby to the opera, nor, for that matter, young children. There are family restaurants, and there are ones that are not really suitable for families with young children. So that's a red herring.
