When they were infants they were. It was when they started walking and talking that they entered a phase (which in my son's case sometimes still seems to be going on!) of being embarrassments in public.

But of course children are natural objects. Is it okay to say that they shouldn't be taken certain places? I certainly say yes. But that accepts, then, that society should have the right to decree that certain people or behaviors are not appropriate in certain places. So why shouldn't Neocon have the right to say that breastfeeding behavior in public restaurants isn't appropriate without getting jumped on?
