Re: Capellas and company is less visible and accessible than was EP and EM used to be.
I think they are just working the visibility that will make a difference to the bottom line instead of wasting time on empty statements. Many of my customers are also CPQ customers (pretty likely since CPQ sells to about 99% of the fortune 1000). This is a small sample, but some of these people have been personally visited recently by Capellas, Pesatori or Winkler. The feedback I get is that these executives are dynamic and convincing in their discussions, that the conversations are very frank and CPQ is ready to talk about their weaknesses as well as their strengths. One of my clients is a major financial house which buys a lot of CPQ. In the last 10 years they did not get a single visit from any senior CPQ executive. In the last 3 months they have had 2, one of which resulted in them renewing their contracts with CPQ rather than switching to another Texas company. The guy who made the decision said his choice was mostly made because of the confidence he had in CPQ after meeting with CPQ's executives.

I would rather have them out preserving or gaining customers than soothing my nerves about CPQ stock. After all, if CPQ turns in the numbers later this year, I will see the benefits directly. EP and EM spent a lot of time playing "Dr. Feelgood" and see where it got us.
