Gangne: I do not follow ACTL but I can provide some information regarding the benefits of "On Board Programable" options. Benefits: (1) Provides end-users a library of programable functions that allows customers to prototype new products faster and upgrade old products with new functions. (2) Benefits "loyal" customer base w/ standard library functions. LSCC has a very loyal customer base and with their programable library software application it provides them the flexability to utilize new on-board programming features in their complete product line. I am not sure if their software application product works with other supplier's products, but I think it does.
