What PE should apply to a big growth company with a lock
on key markets, big new production coming on line and proven
management. Strong manufacturing technology, strong microprocessor
architecture capability, good strategic planning. Why should
a stock like that sell at a 14 pe. Only possible arguements against
continued growth are a challenger to microprocessor dominence (is the
PowerPC that good? If so where is Apple?) or a bobble with the P6
Pentium Pro. There are no real threats to the Pentium today. PC
sales are sensational and growing. Internet health only feeds PC
sales. If FY 96 is only $5.00 eps INTC should be around $100 to be
fully priced. I think you can make money short term buying on these
insane dips or long term (buy and hold). I should add that the only
other rational fear about INTC is a whopper of an earthquake in
Silicon Valley.
