Iridium North America Reports Gain In Subscribers And Increase In Airtime Usage

09/01/99 -- TEMPE, Ariz --Iridium North America, the sole provider of Iridium services in North
America, Wednesday announced that subscribers and minutes of use of Iridium service have increased
steadily since July of this year.

After the company lowered airtime and equipment prices this summer, Iridium North America reports a
consistent 25 percent increase in subscribers and a boost of 20 percent in airtime usage among existing
customers. An independent and privately owned company, Iridium North America claims the highest
number of Iridium subscribers worldwide.
