The analyst who may (or may not) initiate coverage on IDEC from ML
already initiated coverage on IDEC with a "strong buy" from another
brokerage where he worked at that time. I did not witness such dumping
at the time. To the contrary I believe it was quite helpful. Certainly
what you described does happen however.
I do not have the time to post it now but you may wish to check the
Phase III results yourself as they are, of course, available on the wires.
I can say that they were very promising. The RA therapy results were
nothing short of outstanding.
As to any seasonality, I would certainly be one to take advantage of
this sort of thing to accumulate this company should the opportunity
present itself.
Your wife will be helpful as far as the significance of the technology
which IDEC has successfully developed. It is a new and very promising
approach with is long awaited.
As for the OCT calls... I'm just rolling over some profit from the July
25 which quadrupled in something under 10 days or so. I've always
bought what few IDEC calls I have when the stock was under extreme
pressure. If it comes back anything like it has in the past, may make
something off them.
