Well, are you sure that your car never emits excessive amounts of pollution, that your home is completely up to code in every single respect, that every fire extinguisher in your workplace has been inspected by a properly certified person in the appropriate time frame, that you haven't walked outside the white lines while crossing a street or stepped off the curb a half-second before the light turned to green or walk (constitutes jaywalking, you know!), that in the whole day you haven't once emitted a noise higher than allowed by nuisance laws or done anything at all which could be considered a common law nuisance, that you didn't leave even a tiny crack between your window blinds when you changed into your running clothes thereby potentially offending community morals, that you haven't used any chemicals or medications in violation of their lawful conditions of use, that your hair spray, deodorant, etc. and the way you use them comply with all EPA rules and regulations. Do I recall that you have a secretary? If so, have you made sure that she got the full amount of break she is entitled to, that you didn't short her a minute's pay, that you didn't require her to do anything contrary to law, that your office is completely compliant with all OSHA regulations, etc. etc. And are you sure you didn't copy a single word or sentence in violation of copyright laws? I would be fairly sure that in any typical day I could find some state, federal, or local law or ordinance you have violated, almost certainly without knowing it, but nonetheless violated. |
