Sometimes government protects us from other members of society. I wish to be protected from people stockpiling weapons. And I don't think it is fair that some people choose not to pay taxes when I do pay. I want roads and schools and government (it isn't always a dirty word). I like a lot of what government does- many people do- we jsut don't all agree on what we like. Governments don't always do what they do efficiently- but even then, I think, well that massive bureaucracy is at least providing jobs for people.

I am 100% behind peaceful protests. I admire Ghandi style protests that are non-violent even when I do not approve of the actual cause. But violent resistance and protest is different. I cannot think when I would approve of violent resistance in a democracy. The people you are choosing to use as examples favor, even look forward, to armed conflict.

Now if you think people should be able to offer armend resistance to federal agents that is certainly one opinion to have. But to call me callous and say I am unable to see the beginnings of a Nazi type period in the US is a little, shall we say, nutty AND superior all at the same time. A very interesting trick btw.
