Hi CC,
Well, I thought I'd add a few comments to the already fine discussion that is going on regarding Net Shepherd.
After visiting the company last month and meeting with the Senior Management team, having follow-up conference calls with them, and now hearing what they had to say during their first Investor Forum, I can say that I'm excited, real excited. I have made 6 purchases of NSI since last May. After these meetings I'm convinced that now is the right time to add to my position.
I encourage anyone that did not hear the conference call to visit the NSI web site netshepherd.com where there is a link to a replay of the conference call. If you have questions, call Peter Hunt , Vice President Corporate Affairs. Peter has been very willing to answer our questions. His phone number is 403-218-8917.
I was interested in the answers to the questions that were asked, such as;
NSI said that they are on schedule to have NSI trading on NASDAQ, by their next AGM which will be in May. Or, they could possibly be on NASDAQ by the end of 1999 if they merge with a company that is already listed. They offered three scenarios to achieve their objective. 1. File for their own listing. 2. Be acquired by another company that is already trading on NASDAQ (they stated that they have already been approach by 3 companies) 3. NSI could acquire a privately held company, to increase it's position, therefore more easily meeting any requirements.
They are actively looking at each of these, trying to make the choice that is best for the company, and ultimately the shareholders.
With regards to Answers.com, they stated that they are just now opening offices in Pasadena, CA, and that they have successfully recruited some really talented senior people to manage this part of the business.
The Answers.com IPO is expected to be completed by the 2nd quarter of next year.
They are considering opening more offices in the States, most likely in the Silicon Alley area of New York, or some other hot Silicon areas.
I was also interested to hear that they have 12 revenue projects currently in the funnel. They cannot release further information about the projects at this time due to agreements with the companies that they are doing the work for. I expect to see some really good news here after they move into full production of their technology in the next few weeks.
This management team has, in my opinion, developed a very good strategy and business plan. They are executing their plan like clockwork. And best of all, they have shared their commitments with the shareholders. This is refreshing, as many of us know, no news or hype is not good. With NSI there is alot of good news being shared, and there is no hype.
Well, these are just a few of my thoughts. I'd be interested in hearing from some of the other investors.
Regards,
Barry |
