"When Compaq was over $50, all analysts and investors brought up all the reasons why that stock would return a great profit in the future. In fact, all analysts were pounding on the table to urge for strong buys. A few weeks after that, the stock halved and still remain less than half of its 52-week high. Does that sound familiar?"

Not at all...Compaq had just bought Digital Equipment Corp..a VERY costly deal that overwhelmed their books, and they have yet to recover...AOL on the other hand has yet to make such an unwise and costly investment...in fact Netscape, while not the best of purchases by them, hasn't hurt their bottom line at all, as they continue growing both in customer base, and in profits quarter after quarter.
