burt & all:

burt, i enjoyed your comments re: Wall street week. yes -- these analysts are given a lot more attention than they deserve. after talking to a lot of them, i don't have a whole lot of respect for them either. another example -- Dan Dorfman on CNBC who is also a clueless idiot (yeat, i know he's out with a heart problem, so sorry, Dan). did u know Dan often got calls from various funds who called Dan with these news tidbits to get him to move the stock for them? there's so much damn manipulation going on in the mkt it's sick if u sit here and watch it all day. but in the long term, these abberrations (sp?) should not hold. lately with volume being pretty thin -- these a lot of the mkt gets kinda distorted.

these analysts on the street are so removed from the mkt -- i called one analyst and he didn't even know where INTC's stock price (he said, where is it, 67 now? and at that time it was around 70 and he was totally shocked). u also gotta remember -- they have to protect their customers who have positions. if they put out a rec or comments that hurts their client, they'll lose business so their motives are quite skewed.

its seems that people get confused in this thread. i'm often talking about INTC from a short-term trading perspective. from this perspective, i consider this stock to be WAY OVERDONE. also interest rates are looking to go higher and all of INTC's new product line wont' hit EPS until 1997! let's face it -- this year is not going to be great!

from a long perspective -- anyone can be right. if u think INTC's a good company, sure, buy it now (it's now offered at 76 3/8 in OTC) since in 5 years it'll be worth more. how can u argue with this? look at jimmy rogers -- he shorts for several years! you're going to be right somewhere along the line!

maybe we all should first state what the time horizon (i.e., day trading, 3 mos, 1 year, etc.) it is we're discussing so that they're less confusion.
