Of course you did, and additionally you again impressed me by your paradisical situation. Would you say that's typical for Florida? Or, the US? Or do you feel you are in a place that is exceptionally nice?
Of course, on the weight of party affiliation for ballot decisions, we have a different approach here. Also the political system is different in the details (not overall, I think). But in the end, the biggest single factor deciding ballots is the leading candidate's personal and political image, that means the party affiliation is down-played during the hottest campaigning phase. I very much agree on the helpfulness of the discussion boards for keeping a high level of information and for hearing opinions that otherwise would pass us.
To go back to an old point, when I once criticized somebody's usage of the term 'WASP', I did not assume that anybody might feel hurt to be called a WASP; but that it might hurt some people to be accused to live in a state that was implied to be exclusively WASP-controlled. Also, I think if that has ever been true, the level of participation of non-Wasp people (may that be Roman Catholics, African Americans, or Jews or anybody else) in politics, news, entertainment and whatever is nowadays high enough that it cannot be true currently. What's your take? And do you think the fact that J.F.K. was a Roman Catholic did set him really so much apart from other candidates? Or wasn't that more, let's say, part of the image created around him? (Maybe 'part of the 'hype'' would fit in nowaday's language, I am not so sure).
Oh, is it tax time now? Am I taking you valuable time? (I should collect and bundle last year's receipts, high priority now, thanks you reminded me).
