Chicken Kitchen Corporation Announces The Signing Of 4 Additional Franchises
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicken Kitchen Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CKKC) today announced the signing of its sixth franchise agreement with "Rumbee Restaurants L.L.C." This agreement adds to the existing franchise agreements signed since the last press release. In May, the Company signed two franchise agreements, one with "Two Guys Food Service, Inc." and the other one with "Vadi, Inc." Subsequently, in June, the Company signed a third franchise agreement with "JAN Foods, Inc." followed by the fourth one with "Rumbee Restaurants." These agreements, together with the two signed previously, bring the total number of franchises sold to date to six (6). As of July 18, 1999, the Company owns and operates six (6) Chicken Kitchen restaurants in the Miami area, and with the future six new franchise openings, the system will be comprised of a total of twelve (12) restaurants operating in the South Florida market.

Two of these franchises are with ex-Chicken Kitchen insiders, and the other four franchise agreements with experienced restaurant operators, ranging from McDonald's, Burger King and Denny's. "Having attracted the most discriminating food-service operators and our ex-employees as our franchisees, validates the Chicken Kitchen concept as a solid investment opportunity in the food-service industry today," said Chicken Kitchen President and CEO, Christian de Berdouare. "Having signed such high-quality individuals as our first franchisees is consistent with our strategy of focusing on attracting hands-on owners-operators. Since franchising will be our primary growth vehicle, it is satisfying at this early stage of growth to see our peers investing in the future of the brand."

Founded in 1983, Chicken Kitchen Corporation operates retail food-service stores under the Chicken Kitchen brand name that features marinated, grilled chicken entrees, freshly prepared side orders and signature sauces. All chicken items, delivered fresh (never frozen), are marinated in the Company's proprietary blend of fruit juices, herbs and spices and grilled to order in the Company's award-winning open kitchen style restaurants. All of the Company's side dishes are prepared fresh daily in each restaurant, utilizing fresh and natural ingredients. Most of the menu items are designed to be low in fat, cholesterol and calories and prepared in accordance with the guidelines established by the American Heart Association. Chicken Kitchen combines the freshness and quality of grill cooking with convenience and value.
