So then Mark should we remove from homes all knives, ice picks, baseball bats, scissors, hammers, etc. How about cars? All these inanimate objects can be used improperly as well. I have ALWAYS been around guns. My father was military and we grew up with them. I've always owned them. I was taught how to use them safely and I've taught my children that they are dangerous. Neither is really old enough yet to use one for target shooting, etc. The guns in my house (a shot gun, rifle and pistol) are locked up in one place and the ammo in another. I alone (not even my wife who does not knwo how to use a pistol and does not want to learn) have the combination. Guns used responsibly are not dangerous. IMO, its simply ludicrous to try to equate the two situations. The harm to children resulting from a divorce is immediate and long lasting. its not the proliferation of guns which causes the problem, its the misuse of them and the failure of our society to punish people and properly value human life which is the problem.
